From Asunción With Love: A Free Riverside Valentine’s Day Festival

The Port of Asunción will host Get on Board with Love (Embarcate al Amor), a free Valentine’s Day Festival, on 14 February 2026. Organised by the National Secretariat of Culture, the event will feature live music, artisan stalls, traditional food, and art exhibitions by the Paraguay River.

Activities will begin at 19:00 and continue late into the night at the Asunción Port Cultural Centre. Entry is free of charge, and tables can be reserved by contacting +595 981 417 541. The initiative forms part of the Embarcate event series, which aims to revitalise the port area while promoting Paraguayan culture and public spaces.

Art and cultural expression at Valentine’s Day Festival

From the early evening, visitors will be able to browse artisan and small business stalls around the port. The event will feature handmade items, creative designs, and 100 per cent Paraguayan products, alongside a variety of gastronomic stalls offering traditional dishes and other options.

Near the port, the Itaú Cultural Centre adds to the cultural offering. The space was inaugurated in December 2025 with support from the National Secretariat of Culture. Additionally, according to José Brítez, chief executive of Itaú Bank, the centre “serves as a space of connection, culture, education, and development”.

One of the recent curated exhibitions at the centre, “Del río a las coronas”, presents the Paraguay River as a symbolic space. The pieces invite visitors to reconnect with their heritage through the river.

The Itaú Cultural Centre is open Tuesday to Friday from 09:00 to 19:00, and Saturdays from 09:00 to 14:00.

Live music throughout the night

The musical programme brings together performers from a variety of genres. Roger Romances will pay tribute to the Mexican romantic singer Luis Miguel. Erika Estigarribia, Vidal Romero, and Guido Faggiani will perform traditional ballads, boleros, guaranías, and bossa nova songs. The Spirit Cover Band will close the evening with rock love-ballad classics in celebration of the holiday.
