Joshua Dürksen Crowns F2 Season With Feature Race Victory In Abu Dhabi

Paraguayan racing driver, Joshua Dürksen, has capped off his season in spectacular fashion by winning the feature race at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi. The Formula 2 driver, competing for AIX Racing, secured his first main race victory of the season, and second overall, concluding a highly successful year. This performance brings his total points tally to 87 for the season. The results are placing him firmly within the top ten of the overall drivers’ standings.

Following the race, Dürksen expressed his elation, dedicating the race victory to his team, sponsors, and followers. He acknowledged that many had doubted him.

“Many did not believe, many things were said… but a Paraguayan does not give up, they motivate themselves with the negative and turn it into a positive.”

Setting the stage for a major move

Crucially, this race victory provides the perfect momentum for Dürksen as he prepares for a significant career change in the immediate future. In October, it was announced that Dürksen will be moving to Invicta Racing for the 2026 FIA Formula 2 season.

The switch marks a substantial upgrade for the young driver, as he is joining the team 2024 Teams Champion. Invicta Racing consistently fields one of the strongest cars on the grid. He will partner with Formula 3 Champion Rafael Câmara. The duo will be creating a highly competitive, and all-South American line-up for the British-based team.

Dürksen sees the move as a crucial step towards his ultimate goal, stating his readiness to compete at the sharp end of the championship. His third year in Formula 2 will be pivotal as he seeks to accumulate the necessary Super Licence points.

Additionally, he aims for the title, a requirement for any serious consideration from Formula 1 teams. The race victory in Abu Dhabi serves as a strong statement as Dürksen shifts his focus to preparations with Invicta Racing. He sets his sights firmly on progressing to the premier category of motorsport, Formula 1.
