Brand Manager Paz Céspedes explained that they wanted a concept that felt different for a rooftop space. “The concept is a rooftop garden. The gastronomy is focused on a healthy style and similar.” The venue appeals to couples, groups of friends, art lovers, and anyone who values diversity, creativity, and an environmentally conscious lifestyle.

The kitchen embraces this ethos with dishes that are lighter, more contemporary, and rooted in fresh produce. Fit-style plates, vegetarian options, and burgers shape the heart of the menu. Everything aims to deliver flavour without heaviness, positioning Gitano as a refreshing alternative within the city’s dining scene.

Gitano’s menu blends relaxed comfort food with subtle, inventive touches. What is the bar’s most popular drink? “The signature gin and tonic infused with yerba mate is quite popular,” referring to a favourite among guests who order it as their first drink while watching the sunset.
Food options include picadas (sharing platters) and an array of burgers and vegetarian sandwiches. Salads, and some special dishes designed specifically for the night menu, like shrimp risotto, salmon ceviche, and grilled picanha (top sirloin cap). The menu remains true to the rooftop garden theme, centred on simplicity, freshness, and the pleasure of social dining.

“The environment is very relaxed,” Paz said, and visitors immediately sense the easygoing mood on arrival. The open-air space is framed by greenery that softens the terrace and brings a natural freshness to the rooftop. Soft house music sets a gentle rhythm for evenings with friends or after-work gatherings.

With capacity for 120 guests, Gitano feels intimate yet lively. Free Wi-Fi keeps visitors connected, while the location offers added convenience with paid parking next door. It is also worth noting that the venue is reserved for guests over 21.

Paz speaks fondly about her favourite aspect of the job. “The people I work with, the work environment is perfect.” The team’s energy plays an essential role in sustaining the warm, welcoming atmosphere that encourages guests to return.

What’s next?

Gitano is preparing for an important new chapter. “We are going to move next year.” The team is currently exploring locations for 2026, and while the final choice has not yet been confirmed, the move promises a refreshed identity for the brand. A new menu may also accompany the transition as Gitano continues to evolve its identity.
