With Asunción preparing to move to the rhythm of global sport, Paraguay has officially presented the World Skate Games ASU26. The largest international event dedicated to wheeled sports will be held in Paraguay’s capital from 2 to 18 October 2026.
Competitions will take place at venues including the Paraguayan Olympic Committee, the National Secretariat of Sports, the Costanera of Asunción. The games will also be held in the cities of Paraguarí and Altos. More than 10,000 accredited participants from over 100 countries are expected. Since its first edition in Nanjing (2017), the World Skate Games have become the leading global gathering of wheeled sports.
World Skate Games ASU26 event presentation

The presentation was held at the Medallists’ Hall of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee. National authorities, international sports leaders, athletes and representatives of the sporting ecosystem gathered to mark the start of the journey.
Paraguayan athletes with international experience offered demonstrations of disciplines that will feature in the championship, bringing to life the essence of wheeled sports. Sports such as spinning, rolling, sliding, accelerating and transforming urban space into a playing field were presented. The exhibitions included artistic skating, skateboarding and inline hockey, offering a preview of the creativity and speed that define these sports.
United by Wheels
The evening also unveiled the concept that will accompany ASU26 throughout the year: “United by Wheels”. This message captures the spirit of a global community united by sport, where cultures, generations and cities meet on the same path.
One of the highlights of the night was the presentation of the official visual identity of ASU26, inspired by the landscapes, colours and urban signs of Asunción. The palette reflects the greens of urban nature, the pinks of lapacho blossoms, the greys and whites of roads and cityscapes, and the deep oranges of sunsets over the Paraguay River. Together, these colours translate the essence of the capital into a powerful visual identity.
The world’s biggest wheeled sports event comes to Paraguay
Since its first edition in Nanjing (2017), followed by Barcelona (2019), Buenos Aires (2022) and Italy (2024), the World Skate Games have become the leading global gathering of wheeled sports. In 2026, the event returns to South America, with Asunción hosting 12 sports, one e‑sport and 41 disciplines. The programme will combine speed, technique, creativity and spectacle, making wheeled sports one of the most attractive proposals for audiences, particularly younger generations.
ASU26 disciplines will range from urban sports such as Skateboarding, Roller Freestyle and Scootering, to adrenaline events like Downhill and Slalom. Technical sports including Skate Cross, Inline Freestyle and Speed will feature alongside team competitions such as Inline Hockey, Rink Hockey and Roller Derby, as well as the artistic component of Artistic Skating. An e‑sport discipline will also be part of the programme.

Paraguay on the global stage
The World Skate Games award more world titles than any other multi‑sport event, with 154 titles in a single edition. They also gather the largest number of athletes of any event organised by a single federation. The games are ranking second only to the Olympic Games in terms of participation.
Hosting ASU26 represents a key step in positioning Paraguay as a venue for major international sporting events, strengthening urban sports, athlete development and the projection of national talent.
In October 2026, when athletes from around the world roll through the country’s tracks and streets, Asunción will not only host the Games, it will be the place where the world meets to spin in the same direction: United by Wheels.
