In commemoration of World Consumer Rights Day and within the framework of Earth Hour Month, SEDECO, the Secretariat for the Defense of Consumers and Users, is organising an event in collaboration with WWF-Paraguay: A major informational and educational day on Saturday, March 15, 2025 on the Costanera Norte of Asunción.
The activity will take place in front of Turista Róga from 18:00 to 21:00 with free admission.
The Minister of SEDECO, Sara Irún, stated that this activity “allows promoting and awakening the interest of citizens, turning the consumer into an informed consumer who is a protagonist in achieving a fairer market”.
The aim of this fair is to inform and raise awareness among citizens about their rights as consumers, promote responsible and sustainable consumption, and strengthen inter-institutional participation in consumer protection and environmental care.
During the day, citizens will be given advice and support with the support of various institutions, as part of the celebration of Consumer Day. In addition, a special play area for children will be available, promoting learning and family participation. “Together, let’s build a culture of responsible and sustainable consumption,” said a spokesperson for SEDECO.
The activity has the support of state institutions such as the National Secretariat of Tourism (Senatur), the Municipality of Asunción, the National Secretariat of Youth (SNJ), the National Police, the Ministry of Children (Minna), Essap, ANDE, the Secretariat of Sports (SND), Copaco, the Vice Ministry of MSMEs, Conatel and the Ministry of Women.
