La Comilona 2025 Shatters Records with Gs. 1,347,200,000 for Teletón!

At an emotional press conference at its headquarters, the Teletón Paraguay Foundation announced that La Comilona 2025 raised a remarkable Gs. 1,347,200,000 (US$ 169,581). Asunción and Alto Paraná celebrated triumphantly together, with both editions surpassing all previous records.

Víctor Ibarrola, Executive Director of the Teletón Foundation, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the public and proudly shared the record-breaking sum raised. The funds will enable 122 new families to access rehabilitation services for children with disabilities at Teletón’s centres. Additionally, the foundation will be able to expand hydrotherapy services for children.

A festival of solidarity and flavour

True to its reputation as Paraguay’s largest gastronomic celebration of solidarity, La Comilona once again brought communities together. Organisers and participants recalled the festive atmosphere and moving moments that unfolded during the two major gatherings.

Thanks to the generosity of thousands of visitors, sponsoring companies, and volunteers, this record-breaking achievement became a reality. With 42 years of history, this edition marked the most successful in the foundation’s timeline. The day transformed into more than just a food event, it became a true festival of unity and compassion.

23,000 people, 43,000 dishes, 1,000 cooks

Across both editions, Asunción on June 1 and Alto Paraná on May 4, over 23,000 people attended to enjoy more than 43,000 dishes. Traditional recipes blended with global flavours and innovative fusions to delight every palate. Chefs from across the country shared their culinary talents in a heartwarming and festive setting.

In Asunción alone, families and visitors from nearby towns experienced 105 gastronomic stands, offering everything from paellas, barbecue cuts, pastas, surubí, dorado, and international cuisine to refreshing drinks and delectable desserts. Over 1,000 volunteer cooks lovingly prepared the dishes, but the true ingredient behind the success was the unbreakable spirit of community and cooperation.

Highlights from a historic day

Among the standout features were the flawless organisation, the family-friendly environment, and the impressive range of food offerings. Many attendees came to La Comilona for the first time, injecting new energy into the event and adding to the welcoming atmosphere.

A new addition this year was a dedicated relaxation area, where harpists and violinists performed live instrumental music, offering a calm setting for those seeking a more peaceful experience. Long-time supporters and first-time visitors alike stood united under the banner of solidarity.

The Teletón Foundation emphasised the essential contribution of nearly 2,000 volunteers, who worked tirelessly throughout the event. With more than 160 gastronomic stands, over 105 in Asunción and more than 60 in Alto Paraná, artists, cooks, and families came together to donate their time, skill, and energy. Without their support, such an incredible outcome would not have been possible.

The future for La Comilona

Teletón reminded the public that registrations remain open for new families seeking support. Interested individuals can contact the centres in Asunción, Coronel Oviedo, and Alto Paraná for further guidance.

The Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to promoting inclusion and providing rehabilitation for children with disabilities. Once again, La Comilona proved that when people unite, solidarity becomes more than a word, it becomes action. And when action is shared, compassion delivers the sweetest reward.

The success of La Comilona 2025 was not only measured in billions of guaraníes, but also in the countless personal stories of generosity and connection. One such story is highlighted in the story of a fan club’s love story at Teletón Feast Asunción, where music, solidarity, and sugar-coated biscuits come together to show how acts of kindness can come from the heart of a fan community.
