The Red Búho (meaning Night Owl in Spanish) Network has announced the expansion of its popular late-night bus service with the launch of Line B2, connecting Asunción with Limpio. The Asunción-Limpio line, operated by San Isidro SRL, began on Wednesday, 10 December 2025, completing the four lines authorised by Paraguay’s Vice-Ministry of Transport.
Since its inception, the Night Owl system has recorded 102,941 passenger validations, underscoring growing demand for safe and reliable nighttime transport across Greater Asunción.
New Asunción-Limpio line strengthens northern corridor
The B2 line extends the network’s reach along the northern axis of the metropolitan area, joining the existing B1 (Asunción–San Lorenzo), B3 (Asunción–Ñemby), and B4 (Asunción–Luque) routes. The service was developed following a comprehensive technical study that identified high-demand corridors and prioritised safe, efficient nighttime mobility for workers, students, and families.
The inbound route to Asunción follows Avenida San José, Route PY03 General Aquino, Avenida General Artigas, Avenida España, Estados Unidos, Félix de Azara, General Díaz, Hernandarias, Avenida República, and Cristóbal Colón.
Outbound buses depart from Cristóbal Colón and continue via Oliva, Cerro Corá, Brasil, Avenida General Artigas, Route PY03 General Aquino, Mariscal Estigarribia, and Avenida San José, providing a direct link between the capital and Limpio during late-night hours.
Over 100,000 passengers since launch
Paraguay’s Night Owl Network has now surpassed 102,941 validations. The breakdown by line shows strong concentration on the busiest corridors:
- B1 (Asunción–San Lorenzo): 88,174 trips;
- B3 (Asunción–Ñemby): 11,191 trips;
- B4 (Asunción–Luque): 3,676 trips.
Officials say the figures reflect sustained growth and confirm that the service is meeting a clear need for secure transport outside daytime hours.
Security remains top priority
All Night Owl buses carry on-board National Police officers, while patrol vehicles provide additional coverage at stops. The measures, introduced from the network’s launch, have been credited with giving passengers greater confidence when travelling at night.
With the addition of Line B2, the Night Owl Network now offers four fully operational late-night routes. Recently the new Búho 4 night bus line began operating, connecting Asunción and the near city of Luque.
