New Búho 4 Bus Line Connects Asunción And Luque During Night Hours

The new Búho 4 night bus line began operating on Saturday, 1 November 2025, connecting Asunción and the near city of Luque. The service, promoted by Paraguay’s Vice-Ministry of Transport, aims to improve safe and accessible mobility at night. Operated by San Isidro S.R.L., it runs from 22:00 to 03:30 with a fare of Gs. 3,400. The buses are clearly marked with the ‘B4’ sign for easy identification.

Expanding accessible night transport

The Red Búho, meaning “Owl Network”, continues to expand in the metropolitan area. The B4 route adds to existing lines by providing more options for passengers travelling late at night. As with other Búho services, the new line will be accompanied by National Police officers and patrol cars. Their presence aims to ensure safety at key points along the route.

The Búho 4 bus line route runs through major streets including Rojas Silva, Gral. Elizardo Aquino, Aviadores del Chaco, San Martín, Mariscal López and Perú. The bus reaches the city centre through Félix de Azara, Gral. Díaz, Hernandarias, República and Cristóbal Colón. The return to Luque follows Colón, Oliva, Cerro Corá, Mariscal López, República Argentina, San Martín and the Silvio Pettirossi Highway.

Strengthening the Búho Network

With this launch, the Búho Network moves closer to its goal of creating an efficient and reliable night transport system. The initiative benefits passengers who need the service at night, offering safer and more connected routes. This change aims to expand service coverage and strengthen connections between major night routes, following the extension of the Red Búho B1 line to the Asunción Bus Terminal.

Currently, the Red Búho operates two other lines: B1, linking Asunción and San Lorenzo with 76,189 validations, and B3, connecting the capital with Ñemby, recording over 5,610 validations. The introduction of B4 and the new route connecting to the Asunción Bus Station further expands night-time coverage across key urban corridors.

Encouraging a culture of public mobility

According to authorities, the further expansion of Red Búho consolidates the culture of sustainable public transportation. The initiative provides accessibility and security to reduce the use of private cars and enhance mobility within the metropolitan area. Programme growth supports local businesses and nightlife, developing safer conditions for both workers and visitors who travel at night.
