The international eyelash extension industry reached a new milestone in Chile with Lash Record 2026, an initiative that brought together beauty professionals from different countries to achieve a Guinness World Records title. Among the participants was Paraguayan lash artist Ana Belén Martínez (30). She represented Paraguay as part of the team behind the record achievement.
The challenge, held in Santiago, Chile, achieved the Guinness World Records title for “the most people fitted with eyelash extensions in eight hours (team)” by Lash Record 2026. The event brought together lash artists who worked simultaneously to complete eyelash extension applications. According to event reports, professionals from 14 countries participated in the international challenge.
The event’s purpose was to highlight the technical skill, precision, and dedication involved in the eyelash extension industry. The team aimed to complete 250 eyelash extension sets within eight hours and successfully surpassed that goal, completing 388 applications as part of the record attempt.
About Ana Belén Martinez
For Martínez, participating in the record was another step in a career that began surrounded by the beauty industry. Originally from Presidente Franco, Department of Alto Paraná, and currently residing in the city of Mariano Roque Alonso, she has spent over 15 years connected to the sector.
“I have been working in the eyelash industry for six years. I actually grew up in the beauty world because my mother already had a beauty salon, and my grandmother did as well,”she tells The Asunción Times.
Today, she works as a lash artist, educator, and speaker, travelling to different events to share her knowledge and experience. “I teach, travel, and participate as a speaker at different events. I love it.”
Martínez currently has her main salon in the city of Ciudad del Este, while continuing to develop her personal brand through her work and online presence. She shares her projects and professional journey through her Instagram account, Ana Martínez Lashes.
An international milestone
The opportunity to participate in Lash Record 2026 came after Martínez attended an event in Córdoba, Argentina. There, she met a Venezuelan lash technician based in Buenos Aires who told her about the upcoming challenge in Chile.
“Through her, I found out about the opportunity, especially because most of the organisers of the Guinness World Records event in Chile are Venezuelan.”
During the challenge, participants had eight hours to complete as many procedures as possible while following the standards required for the record. Martínez described the experience as one that demanded concentration, discipline and precision.
10 full eyelash extension sets
She completed 10 full eyelash extension sets during the eight-hour challenge, with each model validated by official witnesses and evaluated according to the requirements established for the record attempt. For the Paraguayan professional, the recognition has also strengthened the trust that clients and students place in her work.
“After this, I realised that people have more confidence in my work because of this achievement. It gives them more credibility and allows them to trust me because of what I have accomplished.”
Looking ahead, Martínez plans to continue expanding her knowledge and participating in international events. This year, she has been invited to speak at events in Buenos Aires and Misiones, while also preparing for an event in Asunción in August.
A growing industry with global recognition
The eyelash extension sector has developed into a specialised field within the beauty industry, requiring technical training, precision, and creativity. International initiatives such as Lash Record 2026 aim to recognise the skills of professionals while creating opportunities for artists from different countries to connect and compete.
For Martínez, the Guinness World Records recognition marks a new chapter in her career. “This is just the beginning,” she says, highlighting her motivation to continue growing within an industry she describes as her passion.
