Tap Garage Carmelitas offers an impressive selection of 14 artesanal beers from Simon Dice Brewery, featuring everything from light options, flavourful ales, and rich dark beers. Each beer reflects a bit of Paraguayan culture, offering a taste of tradition and creativity. With a rotating selection of seasonal brews, there’s always something new to try. You can get a half-litre pint of beer for 20,000 to 25,000 PYG. Or if you’re in the mood to share, a two-litre jug is available for 75,000 PYG, perfect for gatherings with friends. Plus, if you’re with friends who prefer non-beer options, Tap Garage has you covered with a variety of soft drinks and spirits, including rum, whiskey, gin, and fernet.
Unlike the larger Simon Dice Bar downtown, Tap Garage Carmelitas only offers beverages, but that doesn’t mean you have to go hungry! You can easily order from nearby restaurants or even from food delivery and are very welcome to enjoy your meal at Tap Garage Carmelitas whilst drinking there.
Tap Garage Carmelitas may be relatively small, but it comfortably accommodates up to 60 people, making it the ideal space for celebrating birthdays or hosting gatherings. With two large TVs, the bar is the perfect spot to gather and catch the latest games in the outdoor area.
Inside, the atmosphere can be whatever you – or your fellow Tappers – want it to be, featuring a big TV and a good sound system. Tap Garage Carmelitas opens from Tuesday to Sunday from 20:00 until the last customers order (note: Google Maps information is incorrect, as is often the case in Asunción – so always check The Asunción Times!). Before visiting, you can check their Instagram @tapgarage, just to make sure – just in case there’s a public holiday, private event, or some other reason why it’s closed on any particular day, which is rare but will happen occasionally.
