Women who do photography contest

More Than 40 Shortlisted For The “Women Who Do” Photography Contest

More than 40 participants were shortlisted for the “Women Who Do” photography contest, organised by the Ministry of Women, with the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). The awards ceremony will be held on March 7 in Asunción, within the framework of International Women’s Day.

The Ministry of Women celebrated the significant number of participants in this year’s contest, demonstrating the strong interest of women in art, and it is good that this is highlighted.

The “Women Who Do” photography contest provides a platform for female photographers, both professional and amateur, to show through art the diverse roles that women play in Paraguayan society. The shortlisted photographs are recent and reflect actions or situations related to women’s work and their empowerment.

This year’s prizes consist of five tablets for the first five winners, and the 10 winners will receive recognition plaques. Participation was completely free, with no registration fees, leaving 43 participants for the next stage of the contest.

Notifications will be sent by mail to the pre-selected participants, who met the terms and conditions that were published and that allow them to continue competing. The selection of the jury, which is made up of representatives of the Ministry of Women, the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies (Mitic), UNDP and a professional photographer, continues.

Winners of the “Women Who Do” photography contest will be notified of the results by mail on March 4, and will receive their prizes on March 7, all in accordance with the terms and conditions that were published.
