Each week, Tommy-Maurice is going to a different restaurant in Asunción. This week, he has been to La Camorra, a great Italian restaurant in Barrio Recoleta.
Barrio Recoleta is a residential area in the heart of the more modern Asunción with multiple commerce, shops, and restaurants, especially around Shopping Mariscal and Shopping Villamorra. You can also walk five to ten minutes in other parts of the neighbourhood and find a gem, an establishment you will go back to eat again and again. One of these places is La Camorra, an Italian restaurant located in a zone where normally people tend to drive to but not stop. That needs to change because you need to go to this great Italian restaurant!
La Camorra offers typical Italian food from Campania (Napoli) and the Mezzogiorno. It primarily provides pizzas, antipasto, hamburger, and gnocchi. They also have two dessert options and have multiple options of drinks, with or without alcohol, cola, and water. I took a small pizza (4 pieces) named Mafia Picante, which contains ham, tomato sauce, homemade spicy sauce, mozzarella, black pepper, and basil. I also took a big Heineken (650 ML) to accompany my dish. It was eccellente! The spicy level was perfect, not too much, but still enough to feel it in your mouth! The ham was well-cooked, and the combination of all the ingredients with the black pepper was also a great choice! Overall, it was a delicious pizza! One that I recommend if you like spicy Italian pizzas! When you see what you are served in Canada or the United States, you see why I like pizzas like this one. It is closer to what you get in Italy, più originale. It is the perfect place to eat a pizza with colleagues after work or on weekends with friends! Go to La Camorra and see it for yourself!

This fabulous Italian restaurant has multiple seats available inside, outside, and on the second-floor terrazza. If you eat inside La Camorra, you will have a great view of Don Vittorio Corleone or Marlon Brando if you prefer. The establishment is clean and well-maintained. Furthermore, you can get services in English at certain times, which is helpful if you just arrived in Paraguay and still need to work on your Spanish. The employees are polite and friendly and care very much about you! With that kind of service, it is worth a detour!
The small pizza cost 67K Guaraníes, which is between 8 and 9 American dollars or 8 Euros. The big Heineken is priced at 25K Guaraníes, which is slightly over 3 American dollars or Euros. Then, in total, it is 92K Guaraníes, which is just under 12 American dollars or Euros. These prices are reasonable considering you are eating authentic Italian food and not, for example, South American food with an Italian touch. It is very the closest to Italy you can get! La Camorra is making you an offer you cannot refuse!
La Camorra is located at the corner of Chaco Boreal and Capitán Gonzalo de Mendoza. While Chaco Boreal changes its name a couple of times (Pacheco, Venezuela), it crosses most of the city, meaning you can access it almost everywhere. It is very close to Avenida Mariscal López, being one corner away from it. If the most significant street near you is Choferes del Chaco, also named Santisimo Sacramento, you can access the restaurant easily. There is no official parking, but Mendoza has multiple places where you can park your car if you have one. You can also take a bus from López or Choferes and walk the rest. Uber and Bolt are also good options, as they know the area well and have to drop people around very often. As most of you live in Recoleta or Villamorra, if the weather is good, you can also walk to it without problems. It is close and in a very safe area.
