Paraguayan Women Able To Become Air Force Reserve Officers For The First Time

The Paraguayan government has today authorised the entry of women into the Military Instruction and Training Center for Reserve Officers of the Paraguayan Air Force (Cimefor), which will be the first time for the military institution.

As of today, there are approximately 200 places available for female students who wish to train as reserve officers or non-commissioned officers.

The commander of the Military Forces, César Moreno Landaira, indicated that there are already facilities to accommodate female students in, for example, the Military Academy “Mcal Francisco Solano López.”

He pointed out that there are high expectations for the training of second lieutenants, naval guards or reserve officers of the Armed Forces. The Minister of National Defense, Oscar González, said that in the 21 years since the Military Academy was opened for women, important results and good performance by women have been seen.

The announcement was made this Monday during a press conference in Mburuvicha Róga.
