Paraguayan Band Kchiporros Nominated For 2026 Premios Gardel Awards

Paraguay’s music industry continues to grow in visibility across the region, with more artists gaining recognition on major Latin American stages. In this context, Paraguayan band Kchiporros have been nominated for the Premios Gardel 2026, one of the most important awards in the Argentine music industry, with their album Todo el mundo está kaliente!

A key name in Paraguayan Music

Kchiporros are a Paraguayan band formed in the mid-2000s, known for blending pop, rock, cumbia, and Latin rhythms. They have become one of the most influential acts in Paraguay’s modern music industry over the past two decades. With songs such as “Ruta 1 y Ruta 2” and “Cada Día”, the group has built a strong regional following. They have also toured extensively and collaborated with artists, including Argentine Los Auténticos Decadentes. Their work reflects both local identity and broader Latin American influences.

A regional nomination

The nomination places Kchiporros within an expanding wave of Paraguayan artists gaining recognition beyond national borders. They compete in the Best Tropical/Cumbia Group Album category at the Premios Gardel. The inclusion shows the growing exchange between Paraguay and Argentina’s contemporary music scenes.

In this edition, Kchiporros competes alongside some of the most established names in tropical and cumbia music. These include La Delio Valdez with “El Desvelo” and Uriel Lozano with “Un Poco de Ruido”. Both acts are widely recognised within Argentina’s cumbia circuit.

“Todo el mundo está kaliente!” continues Kchiporros’ exploration of tropical and cumbia sounds across the region. The album mixes energetic rhythms with the band’s established style, reflecting the continuation of their artistic development. The nomination recognises the impact within the competitive music industry of Latin America.

Towards the 26 of May

The ceremony for the 28th edition of the Premios Gardel will take place on 26 May 2026 in Argentina. Organisers will reveal winners across all categories during the event. Kchiporros remain among the Paraguayan bands, increasing their presence in Latin American music awards.
