Paraguayan classical guitarist, Berta Rojas, will perform on 23 May 2026 in the Gran Teatro José Asunción Flores. The presentation is the culmination of The Journey of Strings, the artist’s latest project that reunited musicians of the South American continent and embarked on a tour through more than 10 countries. In this new chapter, with fellow artists who were part of the journey and partners of the new generations, Rojas proposes a night to “hug the Paraguayan strings.”
The project of La huella de las cuerdas is an in-depth exploration of the history of the guitar and Latin American string instruments, where the Indigenous people coexist with the Portuguese-Spanish heritage and African roots. The result is an invitation to revisit the past to understand the present, through the notes of America.
The various artists that will string along
In La huella de las cuerdas: Destino Paraguay, Berta Rojas will share the stage with Juan Cancio Barreto, Dani Meza, Daisy Lombardo, Sixto Corbalán, the Cuarteto Paraguay, Mbaraka Trío, and the ensemble Pu Rory, with whom she will share a journey through Paraguayan music.
Some words from the Paraguayan guitarist Berta about the project: “It is a concept that provokes emotion from the moment we visualise it. I am preparing the show’s music, feeling very close to the artists with whom I will have the pleasure of sharing. Some of them are part of my journey, and also, other younger ones that I admire and deeply respect. They are Paraguayan strings that are going to be embraced with music in the destiny of La huella de las cuerdas.”

In an interview, Berta expresses her appreciation to her collaborators in the creation of The Journey of Strings.
“I called Popi Spatocco and Sebas Henríquez, because I knew that I wanted to work with them. We sat, and we started to think about ideas. We surely worked with good people, empathetic and generous; the necessary coexistence to create becomes personal growth. I presented two propositions and, well, we agreed that this one was the one that we wanted to do.”
Now, for this event, Popi Spatocco will be directing the concert alongside Sebastián Henríquez. He explained that the concert in Asunción is the culmination of a big project that demanded more than 2 years of work from an enormous team of professionals and featured collaborations with 17 Latin American artists.
