Circulart 2026

With Circulart 2026 In Sight, Paraguay Launches Programme To Take Its Music Globally

Paraguay is taking a decisive step to position its music beyond national borders. The National Fund for Culture and the Arts (FONDEC), alongside the Association of Independent Music of Paraguay, has launched a new initiative. This programme aims to expand the global reach of local artists and industry professionals by helping them to get to Circulart 2026. The project also reflects a growing effort to connect Paraguay’s creative sector with international markets.

A gateway to Circulart 2026

At the centre of the call is the “PUENTES Programme: Circulation of Paraguayan Music Abroad”. The initiative will select members of the Paraguayan delegation for Circulart 2026. This event is considered one of Latin America’s most influential music industry gatherings. Therefore, participation represents a key opportunity for national visibility.

The event will take place from 4 to 7 June 2026 in Medellín, Colombia. It brings together artists, producers, managers, and cultural agents from across the region. For Paraguay, this is more than a showcase. It offers a platform to build networks and explore international markets. The call is open to professionals across the music sector. This includes production, management, programming, record labels, and cultural promotion. Artists are also encouraged to apply. Each applicant must present a clear strategy for international engagement and professional growth.

Funding support and sector diversity

Selected participants will receive financial support of up to ₲5,000,000 (approximately US$782). This funding will partially cover travel and accommodation costs to get to Circulart 2026. Applicants must be over 18 years old and legally reside in Paraguay. Both Paraguayan nationals and foreign residents may apply. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate proven experience in the sector. Applicants must also represent at least three artists or musical projects. The terms, conditions, and application form can be consulted via FONDEC’s website.

The programme embraces a wide range of musical styles. Urban genres such as rock, hip hop, rap, reggaeton, electronic, jazz, and pop are included. Traditional, classical, and contemporary fusion genres are also part of the call. This diversity reflects the richness of Paraguay’s musical identity.

Strengthening Paraguay’s cultural projection

Despite its richness, Paraguayan music faces challenges in reaching global audiences. Limited resources and restricted access to international circuits remain key obstacles. However, initiatives like this one aim to address these gaps.

FONDEC councillor Roscer Díaz highlighted the programme’s strategic value. He described it as a necessary opportunity for professionalisation and internationalisation. Moreover, he stressed the importance of building cultural exchange and industry networks at places like Circulart 2026.

Applications will remain open until 20 April at 23:59. Projects will be evaluated between 21 and 23 April. Results will be announced on 24 April 2026 through official FONDEC channels. Through this initiative, Paraguay reinforces its commitment to cultural development and global projection.
