Palmear Fair Is Back For A New Chapter In Asunción’s Historic Centre

The 2026 edition of Feria Palmear has been officially launched, signalling that Palmear Fair is back and ready to offer a renewed cultural experience in the heart of Paraguay’s capital. The event will begin on Saturday, 18 April, bringing life back to Asunción’s Historic Centre with a dynamic programme of activities.

The announcement that Palmear Fair is back was made by First Lady Leticia Ocampos during a formal event held at Mburuvicha Róga. Authorities, organisers, and cultural representatives gathered to celebrate the fair’s growth and unveil its vision for the upcoming season.

A growing cultural movement

During the launch, attendees were shown a recap of the 2025 edition, highlighting the fair’s impact on the city’s cultural scene. Organisers also introduced a refreshed visual identity and an expanded proposal for 2026.

This 2026 edition marks a new phase of development for Feria Palmear. The initiative will broaden its cultural and civic reach through new experiences and special editions. These additions aim to attract a wider audience and encourage ongoing participation in the Historic Centre. Over time, Palmear has evolved beyond a traditional street fair. Its continued growth reflects a strong public interest in reclaiming and revitalising urban spaces.

Reviving Calle Palma

Since its creation, Feria Palmear has played a key role in restoring the importance of Calle Palma. Once the city’s most iconic street, it has again become a lively meeting point for thousands of residents and visitors. Each edition brings together artists, vendors, and entrepreneurs. The initiative creates a vibrant environment centred on culture, gastronomy, and urban life. This atmosphere has helped strengthen the connection between Asunción and its people.
