The Becal scholarship programme expanded with two new agreements. The first one is with the University of Strathclyde in Scotland, offering benefits to Paraguayan students pursuing postgraduate studies. This collaboration aims to increase the generation and application of knowledge in science and technology, improving Paraguay’s advanced human capital.
Becal also signed an agreement with the University of Western Australia, which includes benefits for Paraguayan students interested in postgraduate programs offered by this higher education institution.
Partnership details
The University of Strathclyde agreement provides a 15% tuition fee discount for all Becal scholars enrolled in eligible postgraduate programmes. Eligible programmes include Masters by Coursework and Research, doctoral programmes, and postdoctoral courses. Paraguayan students interested in applying must follow the standard admission procedures and meet all the University’s requirements.
The University of Western Australia agreement provides a 20 percent tuition discount from the university for all scholarship recipients enrolled in graduate programs at one of the university’s campuses.
Becal Scholarship programme expanding new horizons
These strategic partnerships add to Becal’s existing collaborations with institutions such as the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago, George Washington University, Queen’s University Belfast, the University of Glasgow, and the Technological and Pedagogical University (UPTC) of Colombia. Becal also partners with the National Pedagogical University of Colombia, Monash University in Australia, the University of Bristol in the UK, and the University of Sydney in Australia.
Recently the Becal scholarship programme opened applications for undergraduate mobility in Kansas. The deadline for applications is Monday, 29 September 2025.
