The XXIX South American School Games will take place in Paraguay’s capital, Asunción, and are expected to bring together more than 1,500 young athletes from twelve countries across the region. Paraguay’s hosting history
Paraguay has previously hosted the South American School Games on several occasions prior to the upcoming 2025 edition: in 2015, 2019, and 2022. With the addition of the 2025 Games, Paraguay will be hosting the event for the fourth time. This is a clear testament to the country’s growing reputation as a reliable and enthusiastic organiser of major sporting events.
The 2025 announcement was made during a meeting of the National Commission for the Organisation of Major Sporting Events, chaired by President Santiago Peña and attended by Sports Minister César Ramírez. During the session, it was confirmed that Paraguay’s application to host the 2025 event had been approved.
More to come!
In line with this momentum, Paraguay will also host the ASU2025 Junior Pan American Games in August, taking place at multiple venues in Asunción. That same month, Encarnación will welcome the World Rally Championship.
With its continued investment in sports infrastructure and its consistent dedication to youth development and international collaboration, Paraguay is carving out a significant role in the regional and global sporting landscape. Hosting the 2025 South American School Games not only celebrates athletic excellence but also highlights the nation’s broader vision of fostering unity, opportunity, and pride through sport.
