The Great Orchid Exhibition 2025 has officially been launched by Paraguay’s Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock in partnership with Taiwan’s Technical Mission. Between 26 and 29 September 2025, the show will take place at the Olmi Convention Centre in Encarnación, Itapúa Department. The exhibition will transform the venue into a showcase of orchid beauty and expertise.
The event is also part of the Project to Support the Production and Commercial Operation of Orchids, uniting Paraguay and Taiwan. With assistance provided by the Yacyretá Binational Entity, the project seeks to enhance local orchid cultivation practices. Organisers thus anticipate enhancing commercial opportunities and stimulating the sale of these foreign flowers in Paraguay’s growing domestic market.
A springtime celebration
This festival, coinciding with the arrival of spring, is anticipated to be a cultural, economic, and tourist attraction for the region. The event will unite top producers’ associations, orchid experts, and gardening enthusiasts from all over Paraguay. It will also foster collaboration and encourage the exchange of knowledge among participants.
Participating organisations will include San Lorenzo’s Reino de las Orquídeas, Caacupé Orchid Producers, and other Itapúa-based associations. Independent exhibitors from different regions will also attend, offering a wide selection of orchids, expertise, and experiences to all who visit. With such diverse participation, the event is set to be dynamic and colourful, uniting people in their shared passion for orchids.
Showcasing orchids and expertise
The Great Orchid Exhibition 2025 aims to provide a meeting point for orchid producers, enthusiasts, and everyone interested in horticulture. Visitors can expect not only a display of exotic orchid species, but also a full programme of educational activities.
In addition, there will be technical talks on orchid cultivation techniques, management, and the latest trends in sustainable horticulture. Two competitions, themed space decorations and exhibitions with individual orchids, will reward creativity and excellence in each field. Commercial areas will offer orchids, as well as practical training workshops on orchid care.
Great Orchid Exhibition schedule
The Great Orchid Exhibition 2025 will run according to the following schedule: Friday, 26 September, from 14:00 to 21:00. On Saturday, 27 September, and Sunday, 28 September, it will open from 09:00 to 21:00, and on Monday, 29 September, from 09:00 to 18:00.
