The Embassy of Taiwan in Paraguay today presented its call for scholarships for the academic year 2025, aimed at young Paraguayans interested in pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate studies in the Asian country through the popular Taiwan Scholarship Program.
For next year, the quota for the Taiwan Scholarship Program has been increased from 40 to 50. Of the total scholarships, 20 and 25 are aimed at undergraduate and graduate programs in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM).
The remaining five are reserved for public servants and teachers from Paraguayan universities with established agreements with Taiwanese universities, so that they can specialise in areas related to their professional field.
Additionally, places will be awarded in the area of Public Health, the number of which will depend on the demand of applicants and international competition.
Taiwan Scholarship Program: ICDF Scholarships
Additionally, the Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF) offers scholarships with quotas also subject to international competition, with 29 graduate programs available: 26 master’s degrees and 3 doctorates.
Requirements to apply for the Taiwan Scholarship Program
1. Be of Paraguayan nationality;
2. Having completed high school or university with a general academic average of 4.0+ for undergraduate programs, or 3.0+ for graduate programs;
3. National or international English language certificate certifying intermediate or advanced level, in accordance with the requirements of the scholarship program or the selected university;
4. Other specific requirements depending on the level of studies and the chosen program.
Applicants must submit all required documents to the institution responsible for receiving applications.
