Students and teachers from Paraguarí participated in Asunción’s Explorarte 2024

The old and historic center of the Capital, in the latest edition of the Explorarte Asunción 2024 project, was toured this week by students and teachers from educational institutions in the ninth department, as an educational and musical experience towards the enjoyment of cultural rights.

Explorarte 2024 is an initiative of the Ministry of Education and Science, together with the Office of the First Lady (OPD), the National Symphony Orchestra, the Municipality of Asunción and the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies (Mitic).

100 students and teachers from the “San Roque González de Santa Cruz” Private Subsidised School, the “Santo Tomás” Private Subsidised School and the “María Luisa” Elementary School No. 7471 participated.

The guided walking tour included the historic center of Asunción from the Manzana de la Rivera, López Palace, Independence House, Pantheon of Heroes and the Municipal Theater.

The day continued with a training concert at the headquarters of the National Symphony Orchestra, a space that allowed students to learn about string instruments such as the classical harp, Paraguayan harp, guitar, as well as wind instruments such as the flute, clarinet, trumpet and trombone, to name a few.

Explorarte Asunción is a project that invites students in the third cycle of basic and secondary education from institutions in different departments of the country to visit a complete circuit of buildings and emblematic sites that remain standing in Asunción.

From the hand of professionals, the narrator will hear about Paraguayan history and important facts about the lives of great men and women of the country. It should be noted that it was declared of educational interest by MEC Resolution No. 439/2024.

During its development in 2024, the project benefited young people from the departments of Cordillera, Boquerón Presidente Hayes, Amambay, Misiones and Paraguarí respectively.
