From Wednesday, May 8 to Saturday, May 11, Paraguay will gather 450 entrepreneurial young leaders from across the Americas, as well as special guests from Africa, Europe, Asia, and Oceania.
It marks the return to Paraguay of the Conference of the Junior Chamber International (JCI) of America, which was last held here 17 years ago in 2007.
The objective of the initiative is to promote youth leadership and entrepreneurship for a sustainable future. The event is declared of interest by institutions such as the National Youth Secretariat, National Tourism Secretariat, National Culture Secretariat, and Ministry of Education and Sciences, with the support of the Municipality of Asunción.
An extensive program of activities is planned, to serve as a platform for cultural exchange, ideas, and experiences to foster global leadership through sustainable actions that generate a positive impact on local, national, and global communities.
“The JCI Conference is an empowering experience for members to enhance their actions through cultural exchange and ideas among young people from around the world with the same aspirations for improvement and development,” emphasized Luis Paniagua, event director.
He said that by bringing this event back to the country, the goal is for Paraguay to gain visibility with such an important global organization as JCI, where young people arrive, incentivizing them to seek changes through development and action with principles and values.
The four-day consecutive program includes a variety of activities, from courses and training on leadership and entrepreneurship to prominent cultural events such as the “Night of Nations” and the “Paraguayan Night”. In addition, the “Forum on Sustainable Cities” will be held, where municipalities from across the country will present their projects aligned with the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda.
