With the objective of advancing the projection for the construction of an Equestrian Geotextile Track on the RC 4 Aca Karaja property, representatives of the Paraguayan Riding School visited the National Sports Secretariat. During the meeting, various aspects of the project for the sports infrastructure were presented, which will be a boost to all those who enjoy horse riding in Asunción.
The delegation that arrived this morning at the House of Paraguayan Sport was headed by Colonel Galeano, President of the Paraguayan School of Equestrianism; Pedro Giménez, Head of Working Equestrian; Colonel Roberto Rodríguez Meyer, Coordinator of Equestrian Art; and General Pedro León, from the La Fortaleza Equestrian Center.
After the meeting, General Pedro León mentioned that “we presented this project to build the work that will benefit more than 300 athletes from 6 clubs who are using the facilities for their training. This track will be for all weather conditions and will allow training not to depend on weather conditions.”
León also highlighted the attention that the Minister of Sports gave to the sports leaders. “We have had a good reception from the Minister. We spoke with him a few days ago and today we met again with Mr. Bruno (Zubizarreta) to advance in the details that make up this project. We are confident that we can move forward well,” the leader concluded.
Geotextile tracks offer a soil space with the following characteristics:
- Absorbs the impact of horse hooves
- A much smaller displacement of sand
- A suitable degree of humidity to avoid dust and sand decomposition
- Effective drainage thanks to the absorption power and the possibility of removing water from the track on small slopes without the sand moving
