Health Superintendency Celebrates 25 Years With 3,000 New Stamps

The National Postal Service of Paraguay (Dinacopa), through its Philatelic Advisory Service, presented 3,000 units of stamps called “25th Anniversary of the Superintendency of Health.”

The printing of postage stamps was authorised by Executive Decree number 2807, dated October 29, 2024. There are 3,000 stamps that will be available to the public. They have a single face value of Gs 7,000 (approximately USD 0.90).

The postal series is in a sheet of ten stamps and ten vignettes, where you can see the design of the Paraguayan flag waving as a symbol of being the guardian of the health of the Republic and the yellow lapacho or tajy sa’yju, representing the national tree of Paraguay, and a vignette with the logo of the Superintendency of Health.

Dr. Roberto Melgarejo, Superintendent of Health, and Dr. Nidia López de González, General Director of the National Postal Service of Paraguay (Dinacopa), presided over the presentation ceremony of the postage stamps.

Senator Natalicio Chase, Dr. Jorge Brítez, president of the Social Security Institute, and special guests from the public and private sectors also participated in the event.

In addition to its role as a service provider in the admission and distribution of correspondence, packages and parcels, the Paraguayan Post Office is also the official body in charge of the Paraguayan State in administering the country’s philatelic policy.

The stamps are ambassadors of Paraguayan culture, because each motif depicts historical and significant events and acknowledges protagonists and institutions, as, without a doubt, these are the stamps that will be on the market to highlight the importance of the actions carried out by the Superintendency of Health.

Other special stamp collections have been issued recently by the Paraguayan Post Office, including “Christmas 2024” stamps and new stamps featuring Guarani gastronomy.

The stamps can be purchased from the Paraguayan Post Office in Asunción, located at Alberdi 130 and Benjamín Constant, from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
