Everyone In Asunción Invited To Join Free Contemporary Dance Workshops

The contemporary dance workshops will take place from January 6 to 24, at the Memorial Site and Cultural Center 1A, on Avenida Ykua Bolaños, in Asunción. The National Secretariat of Culture extends the invitation through the Directorate of National Casts of the General Directorate of Diversity, Rights and Cultural Processes to the artistic, academic and professional community of dance.

Classes will be taught by teacher Norma Santacruz and will be divided into the schedules from 10:00 to 12:00 for intermediate level students and from 13:30 to 15:30 for professional and advanced dancers. Objective and methodology of contemporary dance

The main objective is to train the body through the practice of various movement techniques, promoting creativity, fluidity and body expression as fundamental pillars.

Participants will work on improvisation exercises, exploration of contemporary dance techniques, choreographic sequences and emotional interpretation in dance.

Contemporary dance Program encourages creativity and expression

The program to be developed includes warm-up and physical preparation, focused on flexibility, strength and body awareness; as well as contemporary dance technique, with execution of movements focused on fluidity, control and dynamics of movement.

Also, guided improvisation encourages the promotion of creativity and personal expression in movement; in addition to choreographic sequences, which include the creation and learning of challenging combinations that integrate technique and expressive freedom and interpretation and emotion, by working to connect music, emotion and movement.

The program will be developed by the renowned dancer, choreographer and teacher of classical and contemporary dance, Norma Santacruz. She has an extensive career in the artistic field; her approach combines theory and practice, promoting comprehensive development in the arts of movement. Her experience includes professional training, artistic creation, and management of educational and cultural projects, consolidating her as a key figure in contemporary dance in Paraguay, reports the National Secretariat of Culture.
