Paraguay is set to experience a dramatic change in weather conditions starting tomorrow, According to the Directorate for Meteorology and Hydrology. After enduring a hot weekend with strong winds, the temperatures have remained high across the country, with Asunción reaching a maximum of 32 degrees Celsius today, Ciudad del Este at 30 degrees, Encarnación at 29 degrees, and up to a scorching 36 degrees in the Chaco region.
However, this warmth will soon give way to a significant temperature drop. Tomorrow, while the temperature will remain hot throughout the day, a sharp decline is expected as the evening approaches. The transition to colder conditions will start in the evening, causing a dramatic shift in weather patterns. This sudden change will make the weather highly unstable, with fluctuations in temperature and conditions expected throughout the night and into the following days.
The cold will intensify starting Thursday and is expected to persist through the weekend. In Asunción, minimum temperatures are forecast to dip below 10 degrees Celsius between Thursday and Sunday. Southern regions like Caazapá, Encarnación, and San Juan Bautista will experience even colder conditions, with temperatures dropping to single digits.
Despite this cold snap, the heat is predicted to return intermittently. Days reminiscent of the recent hot weekend could reappear around the holiday of August 15, offering a brief respite from the cold.
As this abrupt change in weather approaches, residents are advised to prepare for the colder conditions by wearing warm clothing and ensuring their homes are properly heated. Special care should be taken for the elderly and those with health conditions and pets to ensure they are adequately sheltered.
