The week of activities will culminate with a symposium aimed at doctors and health professionals called “Everything you want to know about hyperthyroidism: come and ask!”, which will take place at the Sheraton Hotel in Asunción, on Saturday May 25, from 8:30am to 11:30am.
World Thyroid Day
The sessions will be held within the framework of International Thyroid Day, which is celebrated every May 25th. Since 2016, an entire week of each year has been dedicated to emphasise the impact this gland has on overall health.
This year’s campaign included multidisciplinary medical care at the Encarnación Regional Hospital, where more than 500 people were treated in two days. The same thing happened last year, at the Villarrica Hospital.
