Pork exports closed with record figures in 2024. With Taiwan as its main destination, the sector increased the exported volume by 55% and the income generated by 75% compared to the previous year.
2024 was the best historical year for the Paraguayan pork sector, which exported a total of 11,961,894 kilograms at the end of December, exceeding the volume sent the previous year by 55%.
The Taiwanese market was the main destination for exports, absorbing nearly 90% of shipments. The second place was occupied by the Uruguayan market. Other markets with participation in the sector were Georgia, Vietnam and Brazil.
Regarding the income generated by exports, the increase reached 75%, since of the 19.1 million dollars generated in 2023, the last year closed with a total of 33.5 million dollars for the sector.
In addition to pork exports, the poultry sector is also expanding
Poultry exports also closed with positive figures for 2024. Although less was exported in volume, the income generated grew by 8.6%, exceeding 14 million dollars for the first time in a year. Beef also had an incredible 2024.
