Black Friday Generated Sales Of US$300 Million In Ciudad del Este

According to the Chamber of Commerce and Services of Ciudad del Este, some 240,000 people came to the city’s shopping centers between Thursday and Sunday to take advantage of Black Friday deals. Sales exceeded last year’s sales by 20%, reaching US$300 million, the president of the Chamber reported to IP.

“The total sales amounted to approximately 300 million dollars. Last year it was 260 million and this year we had 20% more sales and reached 300 million dollars,” said the president of the Chamber of Commerce and Services of Ciudad del Este, Said Taigen.

During the four days of Black Friday, a total of 240,000 buyers came to the capital of Alto Paraná to take advantage of the offers. 95% were buyers from Brazil, while the remaining 5% were from Argentina and Paraguay, according to estimates from the Chamber of Commerce.

“All downtown businesses benefited, the security that was implemented helped business owners work with great concentration and tranquility, and tourists felt very safe and calm when making their purchases,” said Taigen, describing the activity as a “total success.”

He highlighted that the best-selling items were electronics and computer items, as well as perfumes, cosmetics, alcoholic beverages and clothing.

Black Friday is an annual event held in the capital of Alto Paraná, which, due to its border with Brazil and Argentina and attractive prices in different areas, constitutes a very busy commercial center in the Southern Cone.
