Art Unlocked: Public Invited To Open Studio And Coffee At Staudt In Asunción

Two days dedicated to experiencing art from the inside will be offered at Open Studio and Coffee at Staudt. This is the inaugural edition of a project by the Sinergia Collective of Women Artists. The event will take place on 7 and 8 November 2025. Staudt Cultural Space, located in the heart of Asunción’s Historic Centre on Calle Palma, will offer free admission to the event.

This novel experience invites the public to step into the intimate world of creation. Additionally, observing how an artwork is born, how colours interact, and how gesture becomes language.

Artists sharing their brushes and paint

A lobby will be transformed into a working art studio. Additionally, the artists will openly share their tools, easels, brushes, paints, aprons, and worktables. The aim is to recreate the genuine atmosphere of their daily lives. Furthermore, the goal is to break down the barriers separating the viewer from the process, transforming contemplation into a lived experience.

This event is supported by the National Secretariat of Culture and reaffirms Sinergia’s commitment to the democratisation of art, boosting the visibility of women artists.

Open Studio Programme

The Open Studio And Coffee At Staud event offers four main activities during those two days.

Friday, 7 November

  • Creation of Mandalas: At 17:00, Artist Osvaldina Servián will discuss the creation of mandalas as an artistic practice and a tool for emotional well-being. The discussion will be accompanied by a live demonstration.
  • “Transmedia Works: Between the Pictorial and the Digital”: At 18:30, Artist Carla Ascarza will share her experience in producing hybrid works. This integrates photography, digital editing, printing, and pictorial intervention, exploring identity and visual memory.

Saturday, 8 November

  • Creation of Place Mats and Coasters with Artistic Stencils: At 17:00, Artist Gloria Valle will demonstrate how to transform simple materials into functional and decorative pieces. She will be using accessible and reproducible techniques.
  • Painting Faces on Tote Bags: At 18:00, Norma Annicchiarico will offer a practical session on personalising canvas bags with textile painting techniques. She is aiming to propose a handmade and sustainable alternative.

Coffee and community

During the Open Studio And Coffee At Staud visitors can enjoy the space and sample coffee and chipitas (small cheese breads) from 16:00 to 20:00. This includes a tasting of Café Mayo, a national brand joining the project as a cultural partner. Café Mayo’s presence will add a touch of warmth and community, blending the aroma of coffee with conversation, observation, and art.

Sinergia – Colectivo de Mujeres Artistas,” is a platform dedicated to championing art from a female perspective. The collective predominantly focuses on national memory and identity. Furthermore, Sinergia serves as a crucial space that gives visibility and voice to Paraguayan female creators. Additionally, the collective is using diverse artistic techniques to engage with the social, cultural, and historical context of Paraguay.
