National Radio of Paraguay celebrates its 82nd anniversary

Today, 2nd September 2024, the public broadcaster ‘National Radio of Paraguay’ celebrates the 82nd anniversary since its creation.

Radio Nacional del Paraguay, 920 AM, was founded in 1942 and is one of the longest-running media in the country, and is run by the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies (Mitic), alongside the national TV station, Paraguay TV.

In Asunción it has two stations, the 100,000-watt 920 AM (call sign ZP1) and ZPV1 on 95.1 FM, with separate programming. RNP also operates services in Pilar (ZP12, 700 AM) and San Pedro de Ycuamandiyu (105.9 FM).

The station maintains a varied programming both in AM and FM, where AM emerges as the 24-hour news and FM as the broadcaster of culture, with a variety of musical styles.
