The New Biocean Bridge between Paraguay and Brazil is taking shape

The construction of the Bioceanic Bridge, which will link Carmelo Peralta in Paraguay with Puerto Murtinho in Brazil by spanning the Paraguay River, continues to advance at a good pace, “especially on the Paraguayan side”, according to the latest contractor report.

On the Paraguayan side, the work is currently focused on Pillar 13, one of the main structures of the bridge. Meanwhile, on the Brazilian side, the assembly of the 96 beams planned for that section of the bridge has already been completed. The works are advancing in several sections simultaneously.

This bridge is a fundamental piece of the Biocean Road Corridor, an ambitious project that seeks to connect the Atlantic and Pacific oceans through the Paraguayan Chaco. The work will not only improve physical connectivity between Paraguay and Brazil, but will also boost regional integration and economic development in South America.
