To those unfamiliar with Groom Art, it may appear to be merely a pet grooming salon; however, upon entering, it quickly becomes evident that it is much more than that. Each pet’s fur, paws, and personality are not only attended to, but genuinely understood.
Founded by Natalia Vázquez, a certified groomer with nearly two decades of experience, Groom Art represents a combination of deep affection for animals, a firm commitment to education, and a vision to elevate the standard of pet care in Paraguay.

Grooming for all breeds
“We carry out professional grooming for all breeds, even those that are not purebred. If they have long hair, they deserve proper grooming and care,” says Natalia, founder of Groom Art. She explains that the approach centres on well-being, and respect.
Each visit begins with an adaptation process, allowing pets to become familiar with the team and feel at ease. Appointments are spaced out intentionally to reduce stress and avoid overcrowding. Cats, a lesser-known but equally cherished part of Groom Art’s clientele, are scheduled during dedicated hours to ensure a calm and secure environment. Natalia explains that cats are never mixed with dogs, as they require a specific atmosphere. Every precaution is taken to ensure their comfort, so owners need not worry about their cat becoming distressed.
Coming to Paraguay: A calling, not just a career
Natalia’s journey into pet grooming begins over 20 years ago in Argentina. Eighteen years ago, she decides to fully dedicate herself to animal aesthetics, refining her craft and becoming a respected figure in the industry. She relocated to Paraguay and started the venture four years ago, recognising a clear contrast in grooming culture.
In Argentina and Brazil, pet grooming is significantly more common. Natalia notes that, in Paraguay, grooming services are often attached to veterinary clinics, where staff may lack specialisation in breed-specific grooming. This, for her, is insufficient. Her mission becomes twofold: to offer a high-quality grooming service and to educate both pet owners and aspiring groomers.
Groom Art quickly establishes itself not just as a grooming salon, but also as a grooming academy. From the outset, Natalia encounters a unique challenge, educating clients who are often unaware of their pets’ grooming needs. She explains that many owners can be demanding, yet lack an understanding of what grooming entails. As a result, the team must start from scratch, teaching what appropriate care looks like for each breed.

A place for pets, and learners
Beyond cuts and baths, Groom Art offers a complete suite of services: premium Hydra-brand baths, standard wash options, day-care, and a growing catalogue of training workshops and certifications.
Courses are available at all levels, from beginner to advanced. “We even invite international experts to train local professionals. This weekend, for example, we are hosting Ricardo Alves from Brazil. It is his second time visiting through Groom Art,” Natalia states.
Workshops are open to everyone: beginners, experienced groomers, or pet owners who wish to improve how they care for their animals. “Some diplomat clients used to travel constantly,” she recalls. “Their pet struggled to adjust to new salons, so they asked me to teach them how to groom their dog themselves. That way, they could care for him wherever they were.”
Courses are personalised and scheduled individually with each student. A standard beginner course runs for five months, with monthly tuition and options for group or individual instruction. Groom Art also offers corporate training packages for pet shops and veterinary clinics, aiming to strengthen the skills of their staff.
Love in the details
Perhaps the clearest reflection of Groom Art’s philosophy lies in the way pets respond to the environment. “Some dogs do not want to leave,” Natalia says with a laugh. “They come in wagging their tails, and cling to us when it is time to go. That fills my heart.”
Despite her extensive experience, Natalia continues to undertake training annually, competes internationally, and holds certifications from various countries. She acknowledges that anyone can start a business, become independent, and grow, but insists that the only way to achieve true progress is through education.
Whether seeking premium care for a beloved companion, or exploring a future in the grooming industry, visitors to Groom Art will find expert guidance, dedicated attention, and wagging tails. At Groom Art, pets are not simply clients, they are treated like family.
