JazzCube is more than just a restaurant; it represents a sensory journey that fuses gourmet dining with the captivating energy of live performances. From the smooth sophistication of jazz to the vibrant rhythms of rock, pop, and other genres, the venue offers a dynamic musical experience.
Located in the Villa Morra neighbourhood of Asunción, within the Atrium Building, it provides a setting designed for elegance, comfort, and memorable moments, where every note and every drink tells a story.
A vision realised
JazzCube originates from the shared vision of two young entrepreneurs, Euán Richard and Marcelo Ortigoza, who recognise a unique opportunity within Paraguay’s cultural and culinary landscape: to unite gourmet cuisine with the vibrant spirit of jazz. The result is a venue that feels fresh, intimate, and artistically rich, an ideal destination for those seeking atmosphere and authenticity.
“JazzCube was the first jazz bar created in Paraguay,” Richard states. “Even though it was challenging at first, in the end, it was a great experience, especially as a musician myself.”
Drawing inspiration from his Scottish background, Richard initially hopes to bring a piece of that culture to Paraguay, only to discover that jazz, while globally beloved, remains relatively unfamiliar to many locals. That cultural gap becomes a driving force behind the venue’s mission.

The soundtrack of the night
As the evening progresses, JazzCube transforms into a living, breathing concert space. Local and international musicians take the stage, presenting a repertoire of timeless standards and innovative compositions. Each solo and improvisation conveys raw emotion, creating a one-of-a-kind experience that resonates with both seasoned listeners and newcomers.
JazzCube also serves as an emerging cultural hub. Regular jam sessions, open mic nights, and spontaneous collaborations foster an inviting environment for musicians to experiment and develop their craft. This dynamic scene contributes to a growing jazz community in Asunción.
Jeane Angeloni, one of the venue’s earliest team members, explains: “When I started working here, I knew little about jazz. Now, I find it incredibly enriching and inspiring.”
To broaden its appeal, JazzCube occasionally pays tribute to Latin American icons such as Soda Stereo, blending local influence with jazz’s universal reach.
Signature cocktails and culinary delights
The experience extends beyond music. JazzCube’s menu reflects culinary artistry, with signature cocktails inspired by legendary musicians:
- Bossa n’ Negroni: A sophisticated, vibrant twist
- Chick Corea: A harmonious blend of red wine, Cîroc vodka, and a splash of orange juice
- Django Reinhardt: Gordon’s gin, fresh lemon, and a signature Cointreau syrup
These offerings are accompanied by classic favourites such as the Manhattan, Gin & Tonic, and Fernet-Cola, all crafted to elevate the evening’s mood.
For a complete gastronomic experience, the venue partners with Tarantella, a restaurant known for its authentic, flavourful cuisine. From appetisers to hearty main courses, Tarantella’s menu provides a rich complement to the jazz-inspired ambiance.
