The National Directorate of Migration (DNM) has released the preliminary 2026 calendar for its MigraMóvil programme. The initiative is designed to bring essential migration documentation services directly to communities across Paraguay. The programme targets both the general public and newcomers community. The project’s purpose is to allow individuals to plan ahead for residency applications and related procedures.
According to the DNM, the schedule includes editions planned throughout all four quarters of the year. However, dates and venues may be adjusted depending on space availability and operational conditions of the mobile teams. Despite possible changes, the calendar provides an important planning tool for migrants who need to organise documentation in advance.
The first MigraMóvil edition of 2026 is scheduled for the second week of February in Ciudad del Este. This launch will mark the beginning of a nationwide agenda combining regular and reduced service modalities in different regions. Exact dates and locations for each session will be confirmed through the DNM’s official communication channels.
Regular and reduced modalities explained
MigraMóvil operates under two service formats to adapt to local demand. The regular modality is implemented in high-demand cities, where residence cards and additional migration documents are both processed and issued on-site. This model allows for faster completion of procedures in areas with large migrant populations.
Meanwhile, the reduced modality consists of shorter operational sessions in smaller or lower-demand localities. These visits mainly focus on receiving residence applications and other basic procedures, which are later completed at the central office. This flexible system supports decentralisation while maintaining efficiency.

Available services
Available services include temporary and permanent residence, residence extensions, renewal or replacement of residence cards, certificates of residence, extensions of stay, spontaneous or occasional residence, cancellation of applications, and migration movement certificates.
MigraMóvil editions are supported by several institutions. The National Police, through its IT and Interpol departments, assists with criminal record certificates for newcomers. The Secretariat for Repatriates (Sederrec) supports foreigners with Paraguayan family ties, while the National Refugee Commission (CONARE) provides guidance to asylum seekers. Regional governments and municipalities also provide logistical support.
