The National Directorate for Animal Defence, Health and Welfare (DNDSyBA) has added new faces to its Adoption Catalogue. Kittens and puppies rescued from cases of abandonment and mistreatment are now ready to find loving homes. These animals are currently in temporary care at the state facility, where they receive medical attention, rehabilitation, and plenty of affection from staff.
From rescue to rehoming
The puppies and kittens arrived following reports from concerned citizens, and the DNDSyBA team has worked to provide them with safety, care, and socialisation. The animals are healthy, playful, and eager to meet their new families. This initiative highlights the importance of adopting rescued pets rather than buying them. By choosing adoption, families give these animals a second chance at life and help reduce the number of pets in shelters.
To promote adoption, the authorities previously launched a social media campaign featuring the animals in a Christmas-style photoshoot. The images were shared on DNDSyBA’s official Instagram and Facebook pages, creating a colourful and heartwarming gallery. The campaign attracted many viewers, and most of the animals are already adopted by now!
The DNDSyBA stated on Instagram: “From the National Directorate for Animal Defence, Health and Welfare, we extend our heartfelt thanks to the adopters who travelled from different parts of the country to give our furry friends a second chance.” Still, there are other puppies and kittens waiting to be adopted.
