Paraguayan Brangus Is The New Miss World 2025!

A Paraguayan Brangus has claimed the title of Miss World 2025 in an international livestock competition. The female Brangus, owned collectively by four Paraguayan ranching operations, defeated competitors from South Africa and Brazil to secure the gold medal at Champion of the World 2025.

The Brangus Miss World victory represents more than a single prize. It signals Paraguay’s dominance in cattle genetics and bovine production on the world stage. It also marks the continuation of a pattern: Brangus cattle from Paraguay have been consistently winning international championships, building the country’s reputation as a leader in livestock genetics, and beef production.

Recognition from industry leaders

The Paraguayan Brangus Breeders Association (ACBP) celebrated the achievement with pride. Industry representatives emphasised that the international livestock community now regards Paraguay with genuine admiration. The organisation stated that “this recognition should inspire continued growth and innovation within the sector, encouraging breeders to pursue excellence and leave their mark globally”.

The winning animal originated from four ranching enterprises: Ganadera y Forestal Herrera, Ganadera Los Lazos S.A., Agroganadera La Huella S.A., and breeder Isidoro Giménez. These operations collaborated to produce a specimen of exceptional quality that impressed international judges at one of the livestock industry’s most prestigious competitions.

What is a Brangus?

The Brangus is a hybrid cattle breed developed from crossing Brahman and Angus cattle. It is prized for meat production and combines desirable characteristics from both parent breeds. Paraguay has become a leading centre for raising and breeding Brangus cattle, attracting international attention for the quality of its genetic programmes.

The breed is valued for its adaptability to different climates and its superior meat quality. Breeders select for traits that enhance productivity whilst maintaining animal welfare standards. This focus on genetic excellence has positioned Paraguayan breeders at the forefront of the global industry.

Building a global reputation

Brangus victories are becoming a trademark of Paraguayan excellence. Multiple world championships have been captured by Brangus cattle from Paraguay, like champion bull Don Ángel from the heart of the Chaco. This sustained success reflects decades of selective breeding and investment in livestock quality. The wins position not just the breed but Paraguay itself as a reference point in global bovine production.

For a South American nation, this achievement holds particular significance. Paraguay is establishing itself as more than an agricultural commodity producer. Instead, the country is becoming recognised for specialised breeding expertise and genetic excellence. The championship outcome demonstrates that Paraguay possesses the skill, infrastructure, and bloodlines necessary to compete with the world’s most established cattle nations.

The global livestock sector is taking notice. As demand for premium beef genetics continues to rise worldwide, Paraguay’s consistent victories suggest that the nation will play an increasingly influential role in shaping the future of cattle breeding.
