From Miami To New York: Paraguayans in the U.S. Unite For Teletón Paraguay

Every year, people all across Paraguay come together to raise funds for Teletón. This private non-profit organisation supports children and adolescents with disabilities, provides them with essential care and rehabilitation services. With the main event in Paraguay scheduled for 7 and 8 November 2025, Paraguayans living in the United States already started to raise money and celebrate this great festival of national unity.

Solidarity in action

With their hearts focused on the thousands of babies and children who receive free, quality care through the Teletón Foundation, four fundraising gatherings are being organised in different U.S. cities to strengthen the comprehensive rehabilitation services that Fundación Teletón Paraguay provides at its three centres in Asunción, Coronel Oviedo, and Alto Paraná.

“Each year, Teletón shows us that together we can transform lives,”says Víctor Ibarrola, Executive Director of Fundación Teletón. These lead-up events in the United States are a reflection of the commitment and affection of our people living abroad, who never forget the children of Paraguay.”

Music, culture, and hope for Teletón

Events have begun, the first being a dinner with live entertainment at the restaurant “I Love Paraguay” in New York, which exceeded all expectations.

Ibarrola: “It was a very moving evening, with many people from different parts of the country who are now living in New York or New Jersey. There was Paraguayan music, traditional dances, and, of course, a truly Paraguayan menu. It was a beautiful experience, full of emotion. People really showed their willingness to continue supporting Teletón.”

Next will be the Night of Paraguayan Art, Music and Tradition (Noche de Arte, Música y Tradición Paraguaya) in Miami on Friday, 3 October. It will be followed in Washington, DC, where the Night of Hope (Una Noche de Esperanza) will take place on 4 October.

During the “I Love Paraguay Weekend” from 3 October to 5 October, a percentage of sales from the iconic Paraguayan restaurant “I Love Paraguay” in New York (including delivery and pick-up) will be donated to Fundación Teletón Paraguay.

Each city will host cultural activities, live music, traditional food tastings, and spaces for sharing all with the same goal, to support Teletón’s mission.

A chance to win, a chance to help

Speaking after the New York events, the Executive Director emphasised Teletón’s gratitude. “At Teletón, we are deeply grateful and very moved by everything that is happening in the United States. Paraguayans may be far from the country, but they remain close to its needs and true to their roots.”

In addition to the gatherings, a solidarity raffle is being organised. Tickets are on sale across the United States, with more than 120 prizes on offer. From gift sets and traditional Paraguayan products to vouchers and unique experiences, the raffle reflects the generosity of sponsors and supporters who wish to contribute to the cause. By taking part, the community not only has the chance to win, but also to strengthen Teletón’s mission of providing free, comprehensive rehabilitation to children and young people in Paraguay.
