Tender Underway For Construction Of Access To The Bioceánica Bridge

The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) launched the call for bids for the construction of access to the International Highway Bridge over the Paraguay River, known locally as the “Bioceánica Bridge”, which will link the cities of Carmelo Peralta (Paraguay) and Porto Murtinho (Brazil).

The objective of this project is to facilitate road connections between both countries and consolidate the Bioceanic Road Corridor, according to the public works portfolio.

Bids for this project must be submitted on Monday, March 17, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., at the Single Entrance Desk of the MOPC Central Building, located on Oliva and Alberdi. The opening of bids will take place on the same day at 9:30 a.m. in the Assembly Hall of the Central Building, on the third floor.

The contract will be valid for 12 months, from its signing until the total fulfillment of the obligations by the awarded company, that is, until the final acceptance of the works by the MOPC.

The scope of the initiative, published on the website of the National Directorate of Public Procurement (DNCP) with ID No. 460,755, has an estimated investment of G. 85,985,315,000. The works include not only the construction of the access to the Bioceanic Bridge, but also complementary works in the urban area of ​​Carmelo Peralta, including improvements to the main avenue, the Costanera Avenue and embarkation ports. This effort is the result of an agreement signed by Itaipú Binacional, the Municipality of Carmelo Peralta and the MOPC, in order to improve road infrastructure and strengthen regional integration.

As for the items to be executed, they will include the asphalt paving of 3.8 km of the access road, from the Bioceánica bridge to route PY15, earth movement, the construction of reinforced concrete cellular sewers and improvements in signage and lighting, among other aspects, all supported by technical studies.
