Two new Ambassadors to Paraguay, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Danielle Dunne, and the Ambassador of Canada to the Argentine Republic and concurrent to the Republic of Paraguay, Stewart Ross Wheeler, have presented copies of their credentials to the national Foreign Minister, Rubén Ramírez Lezcano, in Asunción, Paraguay.
Minister Ramírez reviewed the bilateral agenda with the new representatives, and highlighted the excellent relations that the country maintains with both nations.
Danielle Dunne served as leader of the Anti-Terrorism Network for West Africa and the Sahel, as well as the Evaluation Unit. She was a Senior Evaluation Advisor, Evaluation Methods Advisor and Evaluation Advisor for Afghanistan and Pakistan at the Department for International Development (DFID).
She was also a Senior Research Officer at the Office of Security and Anti-Terrorism; Research Officer at the National Policing Improvement Agency; and Research Associate at Queen Mary University.
Stewart Ross Wheeler, over the course of his more than 29 years in the foreign service, has been stationed in Washington, London, Bogotá, Kabul and India, and from 2012 to 2016 as Canada’s ambassador to Iceland.
Stewart worked outside the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Press Secretary to the Governor General of Canada from 1999 to 2004 and as Assistant Deputy Minister of International Relations and Chief of Protocol at the Ontario Ministry of Intergovernmental Affairs from 2016 to 2018. His assignments at headquarters have covered areas including Summit Management, Parliamentary and Cabinet Affairs, Relations with Mexico, and Communications.
