The University Polytechnic Taiwan-Paraguay (UPTP) has announced the holding of its 2025 UPTP Entrance Exams, which will take place this Friday. Three hundred and forty-one students have registered to take the tests that will be administered at the National Sports Secretariat (SND) sports center.
The Friday, February 7th session begins with the registration of applicants from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by the evaluation from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Of the 341 applicants, 158 have been granted full scholarships for zero tuition fees if they pass the UPTP entrance exams, UPTP reported. UPTP offers 100 places distributed across its four majors: Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering.
The assessment session consists of pre-calculus, mathematics exercises and an oral exam, all in English.
As for the choice of courses, 31% of students have preselected Computer Engineering, 25% Electromechanical Engineering, 23% Civil Engineering and 21% Industrial Engineering.
UPTP has been present in Paraguay since 2018, allowing training in engineering areas in alliance with the government of Taiwan. There is a preliminary project for the construction of a permanent headquarters on a property of the former Cavalry, next to the Paraguayan Olympic Committee (COP).
