Asunción is set for Legends Fest: an unprecedented musical event in Voüdevil Venue on Saturday July 26, promising a full night of music, and shared experiences. Unlike traditional concerts, the festival is much more than the music itself: it combines good performances, with great company.
“The main thing for everyone this evening, will be connecting to people. Dancing, listening, and partying together,” shares Danfer Ciudad, a seasoned musician, and one of the key organisers of the first edition of Legends Fest. “Connection is everything here.”
“One venue, one night”
Danfer will take the stage as the guitarist for Innuendo, one of Asunción’s premier tribute bands, renowned for their renditions of the iconic British rock band Queen. He has been a main musical figure in Asunción’s music scene for twenty years.
“In all this time, the city has never seen something like Legends Fest. Sure, there is a lot of music all over town, in bars, clubs, and private parties. And there are many concerts. But never have I seen such a festival, where four cover bands play in one venue, in one night. You cannot imagine what is coming. It is going to be great.”
Legends Fest line-up
The doors of Voüdevil Venue, located at Mcal. Estigarribia 1017, open at 7 PM. Starting at 8 PM – that’s the actual time, not “Paraguayan time” – the bands will take the stage: from Rehab to Hey Jude, and from It Must Have Been Love to Bohemian Rapsody
8 PM – 8:45 PM: Amy Winehouse (Nicole Arz).
9 PM – 9:45 PM: The Beatles (Madera Noruega).
10 PM – 10:45 PM: Roxette (Dangerous).
11 PM – 12:30 AM: Queen (Innuendo).
“Don’t be late, you might miss a band or two! A great lineup of true Legends, with a variety of music styles,” Danfer continues. “But at the same time these are songs that everybody knows, and can sing along. Much to enjoy for everyone. A Legendary festival for Legendary people.”
Party with the bands!
Even for the musicians themselves. “For them this will be as much about performing, as watching the other bands. Usually they leave the bar after performing, to play somewhere else that night. But now they will all stay to enjoy the other classics.”
This communal spirit extends to the audience. “Since there are no reserved tables, and no assigned seats, everybody is able to join the music together. So even if you don’t know anyone at the venue, you will find yourself enjoying the music together with the stranger next to you. Because we all know, and love these songs.”
Unlike typical nights in Asunción, where music lovers must travel across town to catch different bands, Legends Fest brings everything to one place. And everyone. A unique opportunity to sing, dance, and forge new friendships.
Tickets are on sale now and expected to sell out quickly. When buying your tickets, you also have the chance to pre-buy bottles of spirits (Jack Daniels, Tequila, Rum, Gin, Vodka), which are only available when purchased in advance. The bar at the venue will sell a range of beers, mixers, and fernet.
