ORE: Celebrating Remarkable Indigenous Paraguayan Craftsmanship

The vibrant tapestry of Paraguay’s indigenous craftsmanship will be fully displayed at the upcoming ORE exhibition. It will take place on the weekend of April 26–27 at the Espacio Cultural Staudt. This event promises to be a rich showcase of indigenous traditional arts and culture.

Showcasing Indigenous Arts

Organised by the Instituto Paraguayo de Artesanía and supported by the Government of Paraguay, ORE will feature an array of indigenous crafts, highlighting the country’s rich artistic heritage. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore a variety of works, each reflecting the deep-rooted traditions and skilled artisanship of Paraguay’s indigenous communities. The ORE exhibition serves as a platform to celebrate and preserve these cultural expressions, providing artisans with a venue to share their stories and talents with a broader audience. The entrance for the event is free, as they want to make ORE accessible for everyone. They want to highlight the importance and the value of indigenous arts to other Paraguayans, Latino-Americans, and foreigners.

Institute Of Paraguayan Artisanal Arts

The institute seeks to stimulate and protect artisans and promote the development of national crafts. They have been committed to providing and offering the best of Paraguayan culture in the hands of great and talented artisans committed to their craft. The ORE event is totally in phase with they are trying to do. In August 2024, the Instituto Paraguayo de Artesanía celebrated their 20th anniversary. The IPA has been involved in many ways in the community as well. In 2024, they also gave money via the Hajapo Prize, which seeks to promote the talent and creativity of new generations of artisans in the country.
