Experience Paraguay’s Living Traditions At Expo Cultura En Red 2025

The Network of Cultural Spaces and Centres of Paraguay will celebrate its seventh anniversary with the launch of Expo Cultura en Red 2025 on Saturday, 27 September, 2025 from 11:00 to 20:30. This gathering at the Cultural Centre of the Port of Asunción brings together artistic expressions, ancestral knowledge, and community initiatives from across the country. The event offers visitors a rich window into Paraguay’s cultural identity, and its diverse regional traditions.

A living celebration of “Buen Vivir”

The expo presents a varied programme that highlights the depth of Paraguay’s cultural diversity. Visitors will be invited to take part in experiential workshops, enjoy live music, and witness traditional dances that embody both indigenous and community heritage. Healing rituals, art exhibitions, handicrafts, natural products, and local cuisine will all form part of the experience.

Each activity embodies the philosophy of Buen Vivir (Good Living), a way of living well that values harmony with nature, culture, and community. Beyond performances, the fair will feature open discussions and interactive spaces designed to encourage dialogue and cultural exchange. Organisers have described the expo as more than a cultural showcase, emphasising its role as a meeting point where communities and territories can connect, share, and strengthen their bonds.

Ancient knowledge in modern times

Among the highlights is the participation of the Centro Experimental de Recursos Medicinales (CERM), located in Itacurubí de la Cordillera. This educational and experimental centre is dedicated to the study, cultivation, and demonstration of medicinal plants, with a focus on sustainable practices inspired by indigenous traditions. At CERM, species such as Jaguarete Ka’a (meaning “Jaguar herb” in Guaraní) are cultivated and acclimatised, while the centre also explores the use of Jate’i (a native stingless bee) honey in treating ailments such as conjunctivitis.

The initiative not only preserves ancestral wisdom, but also promotes practical applications of natural resources. Strengthening the connection between cultural heritage and environmental care.
