Chipa: Paraguay’s Greatest Bread On The World’s ‘Best Breads’ List!

Paraguay’s rich culinary heritage has gained international recognition, thanks to TasteAtlas. The world-renowned food guide created in 2015 and officially launched in 2018 is dedicated to traditional dishes and restaurants. The platform, which maps and ranks nearly 10,000 foods worldwide, has highlighted three Paraguayan icons in the last seven months: Chipa, Vori Vori, and the restaurant Bolsi.

Paraguayan Foods Ranked Among the Best in the World On TasteAtlas

Chipa, Paraguay’s signature cheese bread, was just ranked 46th among the best breads worldwide with a grade of 4.3 out of 5. TasteAtlas recognise its cultural significance, especially during Semana Santa. The ranking, which was updated for March, has the Brazilian pão de queijo ranked as the highest South American bread, at number 10. We can also find the marraqueta from Chile in the 20th position. The almojábana is in the 32nd position, and the pan de queso, in the 44th position, both from Colombia.

Around seven months ago, TasteAtlas named Vori Vori the best soup in the world, showcasing the popularity of Paraguay’s comforting chicken-and-cornmeal dish. Additionally, Bolsi, one of Asunción’s most historic and beloved restaurants, secured 17th place among the most iconic restaurants globally three months ago.
