As part of their training process, first-year students of the “Comprehensive Acting Workshop”, known locally as the Taller Integral de Actuación (TIA), under the direction of Tana Schémbori and Juan Carlos Maneglia, present their final work “La Espera Desespera”.
This piece, written and directed by Giuliano Alsina, with the assistance of Andrés Arredondo and Betharram Rojas, will premiere in a single season on Tuesday 26 and Wednesday 27 November at 8pm at the Arlequín Teatro (Antequera N° 1,061, Asunción).
During an interview on Tribuna de Paraguay TV, students Almendra Espínola and Rebeca Bareiro, both members of the group “DELTA,” shared their experience of the play and the importance of this opportunity in their training as future actresses.
Both agree that “La Espera Desespera” is a work that not only challenges their acting skills, but also invites the audience to reflect on universal themes such as pregnancy, married life and family relationships, all in an atmosphere full of emotions, laughter and secrets to discover.
The plot of “La Espera Desespera” presents intertwined stories that explore the most intense and moving moments of everyday life. As the scenes unfold, the intrigues and secrets of the characters will keep the audience in a state of constant expectation, with an outcome that promises to surprise.
Almendra and Rebeca, who are part of this talented debuting cast, pointed out that teamwork has been essential to bring this project to life, and highlighted the importance of practical learning on stage as an integral part of their training.
The play will feature the participation of students Tessa Benitez, Hector Benitez, Diego Cespedes, Ingrid Degen, Estefanía Flor, Dahiana Galeano, Renata Gomez, Federico Leguizamon, Daisy Meaurio, Anapaula Mosqueda, Elias Ortigoza, Eugenia Riella, Angela Silvero, Lucas Solis, and Milagros Walther, who will give life to various characters, each with their own story that will provide both humor and reflection to the audience.
Tickets for this unmissable performance cost G. 50,000 and are on sale at the Arlequín Teatro box office.
