Scholarships For MSc/MA & PhD In Germany Are Available In Collaboration With DAAD

The National Scholarship Program “Carlos Antonio López” opens applications for scholarships to do master’s and doctoral degrees in Germany starting this Monday, November 18, in agreement with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The guide to the terms and conditions is available here.

There are two places available for the Master’s degree in Science, Technology and Innovation; one place available for the Master’s degree in Education; and five places available for the PhD degree in Science, Technology and Innovation.

Throughout the application and selection process, students can count on the assistance of the German Academic Exchange Service – DAAD in Asunción, in the form of Dr. Michael Dobstadt, DAAD Lecturer: asuncion.una@daad-lektorat.de.

Applications for these Assisted Scholarships can be made through Conacyt’s Instrument Application System (SPI), until Friday, February 28, 2025, at 3pm.

The Master’s degree in STI is aimed at all those who carry out studies in the areas of science, technology and innovation, whose life project is to strengthen the innovation capacities of companies, public management, universities and R&D centers.

Master’s programs will be funded in the following categories of the Frascati Manual: Natural Sciences; Engineering and Technology; Medicine and Health; Agricultural Sciences; Social Sciences; Humanities (only for the sub-areas: Design and Architecture).

Meanwhile, the Master’s degree in Education and/or Educational Management is aimed at all those people who are studying education, who are providing services in the field of education for a minimum of 24 months at the date of application (an essential requirement) and whose life project contributes to development within the public and/or subsidised private and/or private sector of the country.

The PhD in STI is aimed at all those who carry out studies in the areas of science, technology and innovation, whose life project is research, teaching and/or technology transfer. This call will be open to all areas of knowledge according to the Frascati Manual1: 1. Natural Sciences; 2. Engineering and Technology; 3. Medicine and Health; 4. Agricultural Sciences; 5. Social Sciences (except education); and 6. Humanities.

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is the world’s largest organisation for promoting international exchanges of students and scholars. As an association of universities and student bodies, it represents 231 German universities and higher education institutions worldwide.

The general objective of the Scholarship Program is to contribute to increasing the levels of generation and application of knowledge in the areas of Science and Technology and the levels of learning in education through improving the supply of advanced human capital in these areas.
