Astra-Lab opens applications to support entrepreneurs in the space industry

Astra-Lab, the first pre-incubation program for space startups focused on Latin America, has announced the opening of its registrations for the 2024-2025 edition.

This is an initiative led by the Paraguayan company Space Latam in collaboration with the Idex.la Foundation, offering a unique opportunity for entrepreneurs in the region to strengthen their projects in a fast-growing industry with a global impact.

The space industry, estimated to be worth US$500 billion and projected to reach US$1.5 trillion by 2030, offers fertile ground for innovation.

In this context, Astra-Lab seeks to support entrepreneurs who are starting their initiatives in this sector, providing mentoring, specialised advice, and access to a network of key contacts.

During the four-month program, participants will receive training in both technical and commercial aspects, preparing their startups to enter incubators, apply for seed funding and participate in international competitions.

“We have the capacity and the knowledge to develop projects of this type, and not only in the region, but in Paraguay itself, we just need more opportunities for entrepreneurs” said José Medina, Founder of Space Latam.

Our goal is to create a generation of startups that not only drive technological development in the region, but also compete globally in the space sector,” he said.

The program will culminate with Demo Day, where the selected startups will present their projects to investors and authorities in the region. The program will accept both projects that primarily use satellite data such as images and geopositioning, and projects that are designed to be used in space or to form part of the value chain.

Registration is open until October 31 and can be done through the official website for Astra-Lab. Stay up to date with the latest program news Space Latam’s Instagram.
