Ten Team Paraguay Medals Spark Pride In First Week At ASU2025

The Team Paraguay medals tally at the ASU2025 Junior Pan American Games has reached a total of ten at the morning of 16 August 2025. A week after Paraguay inaugurated the Games, a milestone reflects the commitment, discipline, and talent of the nation’s young athletes. Competing on home soil, the Paraguayan delegation continues to inspire with remarkable performances across multiple disciplines.

Golden moments that made history

Paraguay has claimed two gold medals, representing the highest achievement in sport. The first came from Nicole Martínez, who shone in the women’s single sculls rowing event, confirming her status as one of the country’s brightest sporting prospects. The second gold was secured by Fiorella Gatti, who triumphed in women’s individual squash, marking a historic moment for the discipline in Paraguay.

Silver success across the water

Team Paraguay is also celebrating three silver medals, all in rowing. Nicolás Villalba and Nicolás Invernizzi achieved second place in the men’s coxless pair, while the women’s quartet of Nicole Martínez, Lucía Martínez, Agustina López, and Fiorela Rodríguez took silver in the women’s coxless four. The third silver was won by Nicole Martínez and Fiorela Rodríguez in the women’s coxless pair.

Bronze brilliance

Five bronze medals further showcase the diversity of the Team Paraguay medals. In fencing, Janine Hanspach reached the podium in the women’s individual épée, securing a place in the history of Paraguayan sport.

Rowing added two more bronzes: the women’s quadruple sculls team of Nicole Martínez, Fiorela Rodríguez, Agustina López, and Lucía Martínez; and the mixed eight crew of Nicolás Villalba, Nicolás Invernizzi, Alejo Giménez, Gabriel Yser, Nicole Martínez, Lucía Martínez, Agustina López, Fiorela Rodríguez, and Juan Iglesias.

Ninth place on the medal list came in mixed squash, where Fiorella Gatti and Damián Casarino earned bronze after a strong performance against Ecuador. Most recently, the Paraguayan women’s handball team claimed bronze after a determined campaign that highlighted their teamwork, resilience, and competitive spirit on the court against Uruguay.

Team Paraguay medals tally inspires next generation

With two gold, three silver, and five bronze, the Team Paraguay medals tally demonstrates not only the number of podium finishes achieved but also the breadth of sports in which Paraguay has excelled. Rowing remains the delegation’s most successful discipline. But the achievements in squash and fencing show that the country is moving towards a broader, more competitive sporting landscape.

The journey at ASU2025 is not yet over. With one more week of events still to come, Team Paraguay has the opportunity to increase its medal count. And continue inspiring an entire generation of young athletes who dream of making their mark on continental sport.
